NUR4827C Nursing Leadership and Management - 6 Credit Hours
(Fall, Spring)
This course focuses on evidence-based principles of nursing leadership, management, collaboration, and coordination with the inter-professional team in a variety of healthcare settings highlighting opportunities to express professional nursing expertise and proficiency. Students collaborate with peers and colleagues to integrate evidence-based practices and safety-enhanced technologies, fostering a collaborative environment that drives the achievement of high-quality outcomes. Students model concepts and theories for managing practical change, communication, and conflict resolutions with interdisciplinary teams respecting differing values, beliefs, and preferences in decision-making. Students engage in a variety of healthcare clinical scenarios systematically appraising principles of leadership and management integral to professional nursing practice through safety-enhanced technology and legal and ethical standards. Students implement professional and personal behaviors demonstrating value to on-going professional and personal development for life-long learning.
